Christmas time is coming and it’s the best moment to help others. For our GE Volunteers it is always quite busy moment of the year as they try to help as many people in need as possible. And in the pandemic times, doing some good is even more complicated. But for our engineers impossible is nothing.

This year we organized two big voluntary actions:

  • We bought presents for 39 kids from Children Homes as an answer to their “letters to Santa”

On the Saint Nicholas Day, December 6th, 19 volunteers dressed up like Santa’s Elves to visit Mazovian Children’s Home, the care and educational facility „Radosny Dom” and Children’s Home No 2 located on Płocka Street. They brought a lot of joy and… personalized gifts for the children. Each present was prepared based on the kid’s letters to Santa. They asked for things they have always dreamed about. There were clothes, games, watches, paints… Each gift was carefully selected, wrapped and signed by our Elves. “After we delivered the presents and were on our way out we heard happy kids shouting Thank you from the balconies of their dormitories. That was the moment we realized that we are really doing something that matters” – said Agata Miśkiewicz, who coordinated the action.

Agata together with other volunteers visited the children… on motobikes! Another Christmas surprise for the youngest, which made a big impression. It’s not every day that you see Santa Clauses riding through Warsaw on a motorbike! ????

  • We helped a family for whom the impact of COVID-19 pandemic was really significant as part of the Szlachetna Paczka Initiative

This year’s edition was a great success thanks to the support of our employees. We gathered 6.968,00 PLN! For the collected money we bought the items that the families need list – stove with electric oven, washing machine, course for forklift operator (starts Dec 16th), desk and chair for Ewa, Christmas presents for each member of the family, a lot of food, cleaning supplies, school items and cosmetics (shampoo, shower gel etc.).

Money was not the only thing donated by our employees! Our fantastic Volunteers also bought winter clothes, shoes, bed linen, pillows, some food and cleaning supplies. As there were 22 boxes (big and heavy) we organized a truck which took them all to Radom. That was a challenging initiative, especially with the pandemic, but we succeeded to make this Christmas really magical for Konrad, Monika, Ewa, Kinga and Agatka.

Helping others is a beautiful thing. We wish you happy holidays!
