On 18 the October 2013 (Friday) the Institute of Aviation hosted the 5th Night at the Institute of Aviation. This year over 16,000 people came to see planes, helicopters, gliders and flying drones. The visitors could also watch movies, see a photo exhibition, get on the flight simulator or learn something about work of engineers.
This year EDC Aviation displayed the design of a modern jet engine and airplane, while EDC Oil&Gas joined forces with GE Power&Water to demonstrate the complete energy production process, from fuel extraction all the way to the power socket. Our guests had the possibility to ask EDC engineers how a jet engine works, why we use 3D printing, how to design an airplane wing, learn about subsea technologies (extraction of hydrocarbons) and how a gas turbine works.
